Burial at Sea
A burial at sea, or ash scattering, is a meaningful way to say goodbye to a loved one who cherished the ocean. Departing from Belmar, NJ, Way Overboard Sport Fishing provides a private, respectful charter for families who wish to be present for the ceremony, giving you space and time to reflect, share memories, and lay your loved one to rest on the water.
What to Expect
In keeping with EPA regulations, ash scattering takes place at least three nautical miles from shore. We'll take you out from Belmar to a peaceful spot on the water, where you'll have time for the ceremony at your own pace. Decomposable flowers may be placed at the site. Afterward, we can circle the location before heading back to the dock.
